I decided to go with a tablescape that was beautiful, yet simple. The lace table runner is my favorite part. I added some fresh flowers and candles and utilized cake stands wherever possible. I stuck to all white for the plates, table runner, cake stands and serving dishes to help keep the dining room bright and airy. The floral napkins are a vintage find from a while back and inspired this entire table and set the tone for brunch.

OMG your table looks amazing! The casserole is mouth watering. Did you purchase your chairs distressed or did you distress them yourself? I ask because I have 4 chairs and want the distressed look but am scared I will mess them up.

FAQs

Why is my breakfast casserole soggy? ›

Incorrect oven temperature - Casseroles that are baked at an oven temperature that is too low may not cook evenly, resulting in a soggy top and a firm or crunchy bottom. Too much liquid - Casseroles that have too much liquid may not be able to absorb all of the moisture, leading to a soggy top.

How many days can you eat breakfast casserole? ›

Bake until the center of the casserole reaches an internal temperature of 160 °F as tested with a food thermometer. After baking, any leftovers must be refrigerated within two hours and can be kept three to four days in the refrigerator or frozen for about three months.

When baking a casserole is it covered or uncovered? ›

Generally, casseroles with grains, rice or pasta that will cook during the baking process are usually covered, for at least part of the time. Casseroles made of cooked ingredients are usually baked uncovered. If you like a crisper, browner top, be sure the casserole is uncovered for at least part of the bake time.

How do you keep a casserole moist? ›

Pro Tip: Avoid Dry Casserole.

The best way to prevent it from drying out is to add a little bit of water, around ¼ cup, to the top of it. Allow the water to seep between the food and the sides of the baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil to seal in the moisture.

Why do you have to refrigerate breakfast casserole overnight? ›

Success Tip: Refrigerate Overnight

During this time, the flavors mingle together and the bread has a chance to soak up some of the liquid and flavor. Wake up and all you have to do is slide it into the oven.

Is it better to freeze a breakfast casserole cooked or uncooked? ›

The answer depends on what's in it. Casseroles with raw protein (meat, poultry, seafood) should be completely cooked before freezing. However dishes with pre-cooked meats or no meat are fine to go in the freezer uncooked.
