Accession #790, in conjunction with this file, contains the letters of Mother Julia Goebel and a monk of Blue Cloud Abbey, regarding the request from Curia (Cong. for Sacred Rites) for Rome's approval of the vernacular text of this book of Matins.

The sisters at Monastery Immaculate Conception recited the Office of the Blessed Virgin from 1867 through 1937 when they began the Divine Office in Latin. The 1900 Latin-German book is on display in the quadrangle.
